The City of Colorado Springs is hosting three Renter Rights 101 workshops this year.
The workshops will focus on topics like lease basics, Fair Housing Act protections, deposits, repairs, evictions, and more.
The first workshop is April 15 at the Venue at Library 21C. The second one is August 7 at the Penrose Library. The third one is October 12 at Sand Creek Library.
“Rental rates are outpacing the growth of wages, so that makes renters really vulnerable,” Catherine Duarte with the City of Colorado Springs Community Development Division said. “And we’re interested in looking out for our vulnerable populations and making sure that renters have the tools and resources they need to maintain stable housing.”
All three workshops will cover the same material. Sessions are free, but space is limited. To guarantee a seat, RSVP at coloradosprings.gov/renters101 .
