CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man takes off with $1,000 drone

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A local drone store is asking for your help after a man made off with a drone valued at $1,000.

The incident happened Tuesday evening inside DroneNerds in Colorado Springs, and it was all caught on camera.

The video shows a man wearing the blue Marine Corps jacket. The unidentified man is seen wandering around the store, waiting for employees to turn their back before taking off with the drone.

Employees noticed the drone was gone minutes later.

DroneNerds filed a police report and is offering a $100 reward and an $800 drone for anyone who has information on the alleged suspect.

"It would just be nice to have the drone back, it's an expensive drone, said employee Cody Nicely. "Our boss is a veteran and to see someone wearing a Marine Corps emblem and to come and disrespect the Marines like that is a big deal."

The store is looking into taking stronger security measures to ensure this does not happen again.

Police say if the suspect would have taken off with a drone worth over $2,000 it would be considered a felony.
