A bicyclist who was hit by a dump truck in central Colorado Springs last week has died of his injuries, according to police.
The crash happened around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Union Boulevard and Fillmore Street. Police said a dump truck was turning right from southbound Union onto westbound Fillmore when it hit a bicyclist who was trying to cross the intersection on Union.
The bicyclist, 32-year-old Jeffrey Alcorn of Colorado Springs, was taken to the hospital. He died of his injuries on Sunday.
Police do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash. No charges have been filed.
Alcorn’s death is the 13th traffic-related fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were also 13.
