A bicyclist who was hit by a car near downtown Colorado Springs last week has died from his injuries, according to police.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Weber Street and Dale Street, which is near Colorado College. The bicyclist was headed northbound when he was hit by the car, which was also traveling northbound.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries on Monday.
The people in the car were not injured. Police said speed, drugs, and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.
Police said this is the 43rd traffic-related death in Colorado Springs this year. This is the most traffic deaths the city has seen in one year since 1986.
