More than a dozen children, many from Widefield School District 3, received a bundle of gifts and toys during an early Christmas celebration on Friday, Dec. 15.
The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office held its annual Christmas party for the kids and provided presents through the DA’s Juvenile Diversion Program.
It was all smiles as jolly old St. Nick himself made a special appearance to bring some cheer to underprivileged children.
Their families are thankful there are events like this to help out during the holiday season.
“It’s nice that they do this, especially because I know some of the families here. It really helps when you’re in a hard time, to put you in the Christmas spirit to know that people really care,” said parent Annie Scheffee.
Scheffee has two children who attended the program on Friday. Santa brought her daughter a brand new camera and her son a LEGO kit.
