COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Hundreds of people came together Sunday to raise awareness of kidney disease.
They joined 100,000 walkers across the country for the Kidney Walk.
“One in nine Americans have kidney disease, and most people do not know they have kidney disease,” Shannon Clark from the National Kidney Foundation said. “One in three people are at risk of kidney disease, because of risk factors like hypertension and diabetes. Age and family history are also risk factors.”
The walk raised more than $65,000 to help fund lifesaving programs through the National Kidney Foundation.
