COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — You’re invited to join FOX21 News at the Honoring the Brave Breakfast to benefit the Peak Military Care Network.

The fundraiser will be held at 7:30 a.m. November 7 at the Antlers Hotel.

Gill Foundation donates $125k to feed hungry Coloradans

COLORADO SPRINGS -- Beginning March 1, the Gill Foundation will match donations up to $125,000 to some of Colorado's leading food banks.

Care and Share Food Bank has reported an uptick in assistance requests since the pandemic started. Since Care and Share Food Bank couldn't host their Recipe of Hope event - the biggest fundraiser of the year in March and this year, the Gill Foundation reached out to help.

Colorado lawmakers hear bill to enforce safe firearm storage

DENVER (AP) — Colorado lawmakers heard from Second Amendment advocates and gun violence activists on a bill that would require firearms to be safely stored when they are not in use to keep them away from children and others who shouldn’t have access.

Supporters of the bill asked a House committee Monday to pass the legislation to protect children from accidental gun injuries and teenagers from using firearms in suicide attempts.

Rooster with knife kills owner during banned cockfight

HYDERABAD, India (AP) — A man was killed by a rooster with a blade tied to its leg during an illegal cockfight in southern India.

The incident has brought focus on a practice that continues in some Indian states despite a decades-old ban. Police say the rooster, with a 3-inch knife tied to its leg, fluttered in panic and slashed its 45-year-old owner in his groin last week.
