COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.– A 15-pound Freon container leak at University of Colorado Colorado Springs caused over one thousand individuals to be evacuated off property.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The leak seems to be caused by a mechanical failure that happened during maintenance on an AC unit.

The valve does not have a way to be shut off, so once the container is finished leaking, the building will be cleared out with fans.
