Fort Carson hosted its annual Freedom Fest this weekend.
The event featured a carnival, live music, food vendors, a fireworks show, and more.
Some active and retired military members were thinking of their fellow service members overseas and cherishing moments close to family during this holiday celebration.
“Too many away from home, and the ones that are away from home right now, I know they’re going to celebrate in their own way,” Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Elmore said. “Everywhere’s a little different. But it’s absolutely wonderful to be able to spend it with my family. Nothing beats it.”
“The most enjoyable thing is watching my daughter’s smiles when she’s able to go on all the rides,” Army veteran John Kraft said.
