Flooding in Colorado Springs prompts several road closures, class cancellations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Springs is under a flash flood warning until 7:30 p.m.

Several roads and intersections are now flooded, with multiple water rescues conducted at intersections including Airport and Circle, Constitution and Alpine, Platte and Tijuana and Highway 115 and Star Ranch.

Classes at CSU-Pueblo Pueblo Tower located at 2864 South Circle Drive and Fort Carson sites are canceled due to extensive rain and street flooding in the area.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert due to the severe weather.

Police say the following roads are closed:El Paso / Lover’s LaneCanyon / Manitou AvenuePlatte and Boulder

Officials advise everyone to take extra precautions when behind the wheel today.
