Fire officials confirm Trump was stuck in elevator during trip to Colorado Springs

News

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Colorado Springs Fire Department says Donald Trump and about 9 other people were trapped in an elevator at The Mining Exchange Hotel and that’s why he was late for his appearance.

Officials said fire crews opened the doors and lowered down a ladder between the first and second floors.

Everyone inside, including Trump, then had to climb out.

Perry Sanders, the owner of the hotel, says Trump’s team had a key to control the elevators themselves and that nothing was wrong with the elevator; rather, it was operator error that caused it to stall.

Trump and the others were stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
