U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — A report of an active shooter at the U.S. Air Force Academy Friday night was false, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said around 12:30 a.m. Saturday that they had completed a search of the dorms on the Academy grounds, and found no injuries and no shots fired. The all-clear was given just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, and the Academy’s South Gate reopened at that time. The North Gate is closed to all overnight traffic nightly.
Reports of an active shooter on the Academy first came in around 10:30 p.m. Friday. Academy officials said they will “continue to investigate the cause of the reports.”
