Woman dragged for nearly 100 feet as suspect drives off in her car

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are looking for a suspect who stole a woman’s car while she was pumping air in the tires, dragging her for nearly 100 feet.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the Kum & Go located at 1021 South Nevada Avenue.

According to authorities, the woman was putting air in her tires while the vehicle was running when the suspect jumped inside her car and began to drive away.

Police say the woman was pounding on the window, screaming at the suspect as she hung on to the car as it left the parking lot.

Authorities say she was dragged for at least 100 feet before she let go. The car fled the area.

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released for contusions and abrasions. Officers checked the area for the stolen car but were not able to locate it.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a black and white baseball cap.

The suspect vehicle is a 1995 teal Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate 673QQX.UPDATE: The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to the victim. No arrests have been made.
