Officers are investigating after a woman stole a truck and trailer from the Citadel Mall carnival early Monday morning, according to police.

Police said Ring and Ring Inc. had hired the woman to help tear down their carnival equipment. Around 1:40 a.m., while other employees were working, the woman got into a truck with a large trailer attached and sped off. While she was leaving, the owner of the truck realized one of the other workers, a 72-year-old man, was in the truck warming up. The owner called the man on his cell phone, and while on the phone, heard him tell the woman to stop and pull over.

The woman parked near the intersection of Agate Drive and Sussex Lane, according to police. Officers were able to recover the truck and trailer. The man was not injured.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
