A woman was arrested after she assaulted an officer during a welfare check in northeastern Colorado Springs Friday morning, according to police.
Police said around 6:40 a.m., they were called to a neighborhood in the area of Dublin Boulevard and Tutt Boulevard to check on a woman who was walking around and yelling. When the officers contacted her, she hit one of them in the face, according to police.
The suspect, Melanie Webb, was arrested. The officer was treated at the hospital and released.
