A man who was wanted for a non-fatal shooting in Pueblo has been arrested.

According to police, on January 23, David Trujillo, 35, chased three women through town, eventually firing a gun into the passenger side window of their car. The shots hit the woman in the front passenger seat. She was treated for a non-life-threatening injury to her arm.

Trujillo was wanted on a warrant for attempted murder, assault, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

On Monday, police arrested Trujillo after he barricaded himself inside an apartment.

UPDATE: The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said Trujillo was also wanted in connection with a separate shooting Sunday evening in Blende.

That shooting happened around 5:25 p.m. Sunday on Santa Fe Drive. The victim, a 57-year-old man, told deputies he had just returned home from shopping when a car pulled up behind him. Trujillo, who was sitting in the backseat, asked the victim’s name. When he responded, Trujillo shot at him, according to deputies. The car then left the scene.

The victim was hospitalized with unknown injuries. Deputies said the victim didn’t recognize Trujillo or the woman driving the car.
