A wanted fugitive was arrested after holding a woman hostage in a Colorado Springs apartment Wednesday night, according to police.

Police said around 10:30 p.m., they went to an apartment in the area of Palmer Park Boulevard and Circle Drive to arrest a man who was wanted on multiple felony warrants. When officers arrived, a woman at the door told them the suspect, Nicholas Walker, was inside.

Walker told officers he had a hostage and refused to come out, according to police. Officers went inside and tried to get Walker to come out of the back bedroom. When Walker said he would harm the hostage, officers went into the bedroom and confronted Walker, who was armed with a knife.

Officers arrested Walker after a brief struggle. One officer sustained a minor cut to his wrist while Walker was waving the knife at him, according to police.

The hostage ran out of the apartment as officers rushed Walker. She was not injured, according to police.
