Two teens are facing attempted murder charges after they shot at a police officer in Colorado Springs last month, according to police.
Police said it happened early in the morning of March 27. Police had responded to several reports of shots fired in the area of Fountain Boulevard and Chelton Road that night. While they were checking the area, they heard a shot fired near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Murray Boulevard. When they arrived, they saw an SUV driving erratically and making evasive maneuvers.
The SUV then sped toward one of the officers, according to police. As the SUV passed the officer, who was in a marked patrol car, the SUV swerved, and a passenger shot at the officer.
Police said the officer was not hit.
The two suspects, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, were both arrested Monday. Both are charged with criminal attempt first-degree murder of a peace officer. Because they are juveniles, their names are not being released.
