Two people have been arrested after deputies found an illegal marijuana grow south of Florissant, according to the Teller County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said on Saturday, they went to an address near Florissant to check someone’s welfare. While they were there, they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a property on Turnabout Lane, which is about five miles south of Florissant on Teller County Road 1.
Deputies went to the home and talked to two people. While they were there, they spotted evidence of an illegal marijuana grow. Deputies searched the property and found 197 plants, three pounds of processed marijuana, and about $3,400 in cash.
Deputies arrested the two people at the home. Kevin Bennett, 29, and Makenzie Amundson, 30, are both charged with offenses relating to marijuana and distribution of marijuana.
