Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Colorado Springs Safeway pharmacy last month.

The robbery happened February 20 at the store at South Academy Boulevard and Highway 115. Police said a man jumped the counter and demanded drugs. He then put the narcotics into a backpack, jumped back over the counter, and ran out of the store. He got into the passenger seat of a waiting pickup truck and sped off.

Police identified the suspects as Mark Von Smith, 52, and Rom Yous, 38. Both of them were arrested Friday. They are both charged with aggravated robbery of a controlled substance.

Police said they found three handguns and more than 1,000 pills of controlled narcotics during their investigation, which is ongoing.
