Two people were arrested after crashing a stolen car multiple times while leading officers on a chase in Pueblo Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said around 10 a.m., they got a call about a stolen car on Acero Avenue. Police said this same stolen car had been involved in multiple police chases. Officers blocked the car in and deployed stop strips before contacting the suspects. They tased the driver, but he drove away anyway, hitting a police car in the process.

The car’s front passenger time blew out near the intersection of Jones Avenue and Hollywood Avenue. Near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Thatcher Avenue, the car collided with a bystander’s car. The bystander was not injured.

Police stopped the chase on Abriendo Avenue due to the suspect’s dangerous driving. When officers spotted the car on Arroyo Avenue, the driver got out and ran away. Police arrested both the driver, 24-year-old Angelo Lucero, and the passenger, 19-year-old Lethicia Vigil, a short distance away. They are both charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft and several traffic offenses.
