Three teens arrested after leading Pueblo police on chase

Three teens were arrested after leading officers on a chase in Pueblo Sunday afternoon, according to police. 

Police said around 2 p.m., officers spotted a car that had been taken in an armed carjacking. Officers tried to pull the car over, but the driver refused to stop. They followed the car to the intersection of East 5th Street and Norwood Avenue, where the suspects got out and ran. 

The driver and two passengers were arrested a short distance away. The driver, 18-year-old Brian Purcella, was carrying a stolen handgun, according to police. He is charged with vehicular eluding, theft of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated motor vehicle theft, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment. He also had an outstanding warrant, according to police. 

The two other suspects are both juveniles. Police said one had a warrant for burglary.
