Three arrested on drug, motor vehicle theft charges in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Thee people were arrested on various charges after police saw one of them get into a stolen vehicle Saturday morning.

Police said around 6 a.m. Saturday, an officer saw a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 2800-block of South Circle Drive. Officers set up surveillance on the vehicle, and around 7 a.m., they saw three people get into it. Officers approached the three and detained them without incident. After an investigation, they arrested one on motor vehicle theft charges.

Police then searched the vehicle and found stolen property and drug paraphernalia. They got a search warrant for a nearby motel room, where they found meth and more stolen property. Police arrested one person in the room for possession of a schedule two controlled substance. Another suspect was arrested on felony warrants for motor vehicle theft and eluding.

Because the investigation is ongoing, the suspects’ names have not been released.
