Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured one man in Pueblo over the weekend.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday on Chestnut Drive. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, as well as a head injury from being hit with a gun.

While officers were on their way to the scene, they spotted the suspects’ car in the area of Cambridge Avenue and Northern Avenue. They chased it, but the driver refused to stop. Officers eventually forcibly stopped the car on Cleveland Street. The three occupants, 23-year-old Meliton Valdez, 20-year-old Bryan Thomas, and 35-year-old Danielle Baca, were all arrested. They are each charged with assault, robbery, and felony eluding. Police said Thomas was also charged with a restraining order violation.

Police said the shooting resulted from a dispute over drugs.
