A teen is facing multiple charges after he stabbed three people in southwestern Colorado Springs Sunday night, according to police.
Police said the assault happened around 10 p.m. in the Gold Camp Road area. One victim sustained a superficial cut on the hand, one sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to the lower abdomen, and one sustained a serious stab wound to the chest. Police said all three victims are expected to recover.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw the suspect car speeding away. They tried to pull the car over in a neighborhood near Gold Camp Road and 21st Street, but the driver refused to stop. He led officers on a short chase before stopping in a dead end cul de sac on Gold Claim Terrace, where he jumped out and ran away.
Police detained the three passengers and brought in a K9 to search for the driver. The K9 track was successful, and the driver was arrested without further incident.
Police said the driver, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of vehicular eluding.
