A woman has been arrested after she shot a juvenile girl at a Pueblo motel Saturday evening, according to police.
Police said the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. at the Econo Lodge on North Elizabeth Street. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for a single gunshot wound to her leg. The suspect left in a car with a man, according to police.
Police identified the suspect as Leslie Ramirez, 23. On Sunday, they learned her car was parked at a home on East River Street. Officers surrounded the home and told everyone inside to come out. After several minutes, three people came out, including the man who police say was with Ramirez at the time of the shooting. One of the people who came out told officers that Ramirez was still inside. She wouldn’t respond to officers’ commands to come out, so the SWAT team went into the home and arrested her without further incident, according to police.
Ramirez is charged with attempted murder.
