Several people, including Colorado Springs police officers, sustained minor injuries in a robbery at a donut shop early Friday morning.

Police said the robbery happened around 3 a.m. at Amy’s Donuts at Fountain Boulevard and Circle Drive. Two men went into the store and demanded money. Police said when an employee took too long to open the register, one of the robbers hit him in the head with a gun, causing the gun to discharge and injuring the employee. Police said no one was hit by the gunfire.

When officers arrived, it was unclear if the suspects were still inside, so the officers forced their way in. Police said several officers sustained minor injuries while entering through the locked glass door.

Police said the suspects were described as two Hispanic men. One was about 5 feet 3 inches tall, and the other was about 6 feet tall. Both were wearing bandanas and had hoodies pulled up over their heads.

No suspects have been arrested.
