Pueblo police K9 finds $1 million worth of cocaine in car traveling on I-25

PUEBLO, Colo. — A Pueblo police K9 found about $1 million worth of cocaine in a car that was traveling on Interstate 25 Saturday, according to police.

Police said around 3 p.m., an officer saw a car weaving while headed northbound on I-25 in southern Pueblo. The officer pulled the car over. K9 Widget sniffed the car and detected narcotics inside. Police took the car to a secure location to search it, and found 10 hidden packages containing about $1,082,100 worth of cocaine.

Police said the driver, 34-year-old Jose Alonso Calderon Garcia, was traveling from Mexico to Denver when he was pulled over. He was arrested on charges of possession of a schedule two controlled substance with intent to distribute.
