Police: Woman facing DUI charges after crashing car with small child inside

A woman is facing DUI charges after she crashed a car with a small child inside Monday afternoon, according to police. 

Police said the crash happened around 2 p.m. on Powers Boulevard in northern Colorado Springs. The driver, 36-year-old Angela Miller, was headed northbound when she went off the road and hit several light poles, according to police. 

Police said Miller was unresponsive when first responders arrived. She was extricated and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. 

Police said a small child in the car at the time was not injured. 

Police said drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash. Miller is charged with DUI/DUID, possession of drugs, child abuse, and other charges. Police said they found illegal narcotics in her possession.
