CAÑON CITY, Colo. — A burglary suspect is recovering after he was shot while breaking into a home early Sunday morning, according to police.

When the suspect, 33-year-old Cameron Locke, broke into the home, he was confronted by a man who was inside with the homeowner, according to police. The man told Locke to stop coming into the home, but he refused. The man then shot Locke in the stomach, according to police.
Locke was treated for his injury and is recovering at the hospital.
Police said Locke will be charged with burglary, stalking, violation of a protection order, assault, trespass, and harassment. Police said there was a history of disturbances between the homeowner and Locke.
