A man is facing multiple charges after he tried to break into a northeastern Colorado Springs home and then eluded officers who tried to arrest him Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said it happened around 4:30 a.m. on Peak Vista Circle, which is in the area of Dublin Boulevard and Union Boulevard. The victim called police and told them the suspect parked in their driveway, then tried to enter the home through the door. The suspect was also going into other people’s driveways, according to the caller.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect in the middle of the road, revving his car’s engine and lurching forward. He then drove away from the officers and through a fence, according to police.

Officers eventually used their cruisers to pin in the suspect’s car. He continued to move his car back and forth between the officers’ cruisers, but was eventually arrested without further incident, according to police.

Police said the suspect appeared to be under the influence of an unspecified substance.
