Police are still looking for the man who they say assaulted two people and robbed one at a Pueblo motel Sunday night.

Police said it happened around 10:40 p.m. at the Motel 6 on North Elizabeth Street. One of the victims, an 18-year-old man, had rented a motel room to have a party, according to police. He and the other victim were in the room when the second victim invited a friend to come. The friend arrived at the motel room with the suspect, 20-year-old Daniel Howard. A short time later, Howard confronted the first victim about a personal conflict, according to police. He then pistol whipped the first victim and shot the second victim with the same gun, according to police. Howard then took the first victim’s wallet, and he and his friend ran away, according to police.

Police said the first victim sustained injuries to his head and face. The second victim, also an 18-year-old man, was shot in the right leg. Neither of the injuries is considered serious, according to police.

Howard is now wanted on a warrant for aggravated robbery, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 719-553-2502 or Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP (7867).
