A man accused of assaulting and trying to sexually assault an Uber driver early Monday morning has been arrested, according to police.

Police said the assault happened around 4:30 a.m. The victim, a 63-year-old woman, told police she picked up the suspect in the area of Dale Street and Corona Street. He hit and bit her several times and tried to sexually assault her, causing significant injuries, according to police. When the victim got out of her car, the suspect took it and sped away.

Police sent out an alert Tuesday asking the public to be on the lookout for the stolen car.

The suspect, 22-year-old Raydrian Scott, was arrested Wednesday. He was still in possession of the victim’s car.

Scott was arrested on charges of attempted sexual assault, assault, robbery, aggravated motor vehicle theft, and failure to register as a sex offender. He was also arrested on several unrelated misdemeanor warrants, including domestic violence charges, out of Pueblo, as well as a non-extraditable warrant out of Alabama related to his failure to register as a sex offender.
