A driver is dead after a two-car crash in northeastern Colorado Springs Friday evening, according to police.
The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. on Briargate Boulevard near the intersection with Union Boulevard. Police said a Toyota pickup was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Briargate Boulevard. It went through the intersection with Union Boulevard, continued westbound, and hit a light pole. It then turned around and went eastbound through the intersection with Union Boulevard, where it hit a Honda that was headed northbound. The truck then hit a building on the north side of Briargate Boulevard and came to a stop.
The driver of the pickup died on the scene.
The driver of the Honda was not injured.
