No one injured by shots fired in Colorado Springs; suspect arrested

Two schools were on lockdown for about an hour Monday morning while police searched for a man who was seen firing a rifle in the area of Academy Boulevard and Pikes Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs. 

Police said around 6:50 a.m., they got a call about a man shooting a rifle into a car. When officers arrived, the man ran off. Police said the car was unoccupied and no one was injured by the shots.

The suspect was identified as Jesus Molina, 37. Molina was located near Carefree and Powers and taken into custody without incident. 

Swigert Aerospace Academy and Roosevelt Charter Academy were on lockdown while police searched for the suspect.
