A Mitchell High School teacher is accused of having unlawful sexual contact with a student, according to police.
Armando Grez, 27, was arrested Tuesday. He is charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. Police said in May, they began investigating a report that Grez had unlawful sexual contact with a student under age 18.
A District 11 spokesperson said Grez was hired in August. He was a math teacher at the school. The spokesperson said Grez has been placed on administrative leave.
