Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a road rage incident in Colorado Springs last week.
On Wednesday, Jan. 3, officers dispatched to the intersection of Jet Wing Drive and Fountain Boulevard to investigate a reported rage incident between a pedestrian and a driver. At the scene, officers learned that the driver almost hit the pedestrian as he was legally crossing the street. This resulted in a verbal argument, during which the driver pointed a gun out of his car window and fired a shot at the pedestrian, nearly hitting him. The driver then fled the scene, according to officials.
Police were able to identify the driver, Perry Suggs Jr., through eyewitness accounts and further investigation. Suggs was arrested on Jan. 4 and charged with Attempted 1st Degree Assault and Possession of Weapons by a Previous Offender.
Additionally, officers recovered two guns which were reported stolen.
