A man who was found guilty of murdering a Colorado Springs auto shop owner last year has been sentenced to life in prison.
Derrick Davis was found guilty Monday of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in connection with the death of George Maldonado. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 16 years.
Maldonado was killed during a robbery at his shop, Full Throttle Auto Service on North Chelton Road, in July 2017.
Davis is the second person to be convicted for the crime. Eric Grant was sentenced in June to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 25 years.
