A man who pled guilty to hitting and killing a pedestrian in the Security-Widefield area in August has been sentenced.
Richard Bitters was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison, followed by five years mandatory parole.
Bitters pled guilty in August to leaving the scene of an accident involving death and attempt to influence a public servant.
The crash happened August 5 near the intersection of South Highway 85 and Fontaine Boulevard. The victim, 57-year-old Mario Wells, died the next day.
