COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man was cited after he slid into a creek drainage in an attempt to elude officers Sunday morning, according to police.
Police said around 6 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at a business on Interpark Drive. When officers arrived, they saw a man leaving the area and found evidence that he had broken into the business. The man refused to comply with officers’ commands, and briefly evaded them by sliding down an embankment into a creek drainage, according to police.
Officers chased the man into the drainage and tased him. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Police determined the man had illegally entered the business through an unlocked front door, but had not committed any crimes inside. He was served and released on numerous charges, including trespassing and obstruction.
A police K9 searched the business and did not find anyone else inside.
