Man arrested after leading deputies on chase through Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man was arrested after he led deputies on a chase from eastern Colorado Springs to Old Colorado City Monday night, according to the sheriff's office. 

Deputies said around 11:15 p.m., they spotted a car with no visible registration pull into the parking lot of the Super 8 on Peterson Road just north of Peterson Air Force Base. When they tried to pull the car over, the driver crashed into a deputy's patrol car, then sped off. The deputies chased the driver to the area of Colorado Avenue and 31st Street, where they took him into custody. 

The driver, 33-year-old Daniel Boutin, was hospitalized with minor injuries, then booked into jail. He is charged with assault on a peace officer, driving under the influence of drugs, felony eluding, and other traffic charges. 

The sheriff's office said no deputies were injured. Two patrol car sustained minor damage.
