COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A K9 helped arrest a man who crashed a stolen car while leading officers on a chase Thursday evening, according to police.

Police said around 11 p.m. Thursday, an officer saw a car speeding on Academy Boulevard near Vickers Drive. When the officer tried to pull the car over, the driver ran a red light and crashed while trying to turn right onto Anglo Drive.

The driver ran from the crash. Police called in a K9, who found him nearby. The driver, Matthew Doss, was treated for the dog bite and arrested.

Police said the car had been reported stolen.
