K9 helps arrest man accused of assaulting woman in northeastern Colorado Springs

A Colorado Springs police K9 helped find and arrest a man accused of assaulting a woman in northeastern Colorado Springs Sunday evening, according to police. 

Police said around 7 p.m., they got a call about an assault at a home in the area of Academy Boulevard and Union Boulevard. The victim told police the suspect had pointed a gun at her, threatened to kill her, and hit her in the face, causing a fracture. 

The victim and her two children were able to escape from the home and contact neighbors, who called police. 

With the help of K9 Tank, officers found the suspect, 33-year-old Anthony Fuentez, hiding in a closet. He was arrested on felony domestic violence charges.
