A Fountain woman has been arrested after she fatally abused her 15-month-old daughter last month, according to police.
Police said just before 5 a.m. August 4, they went to a home on Crest Drive to investigate a report of a 15-month-old girl who was unresponsive and not breathing. The girl was taken to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
After a monthlong investigation, police identified the suspect as the girl’s mother, 23-year-old Lauren Sierra. Sierra was arrested August 27. She is charged with child abuse resulting in death.
