Family Dollar assistant manager accused of robbing own store

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The assistant manager of a Colorado Springs Family Dollar robbed his own store on Wednesday, according to police.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. at the store on South Circle Drive. Police said two suspects entered the store, bound two employees with duct tape, and took several items, including cash.

When officers arrived, they saw footprints in the snow and determined the suspects had left in a car. They interviewed the victims and determined one of the suspects was an off-duty assistant manager, 30-year-old Martellius Bryant. Police said Bryant returned to the scene and was later arrested.

Police searched Bryant’s home and found several items taken in the robbery, including all of the cash. They also arrested the second suspect, 21-year-old Alejandro Pablo.
