A man who was pulled over on suspicion of DUI Thursday is now facing multiple charges after he told deputies he planned to commit murder the next day.
Deputies said on Thursday, they stopped a driver who was weaving and driving erratically on Highway 24. While talking to the driver, Luis Nolberto Garcia Davalos, they noticed a pistol on the front seat of the car.
Davalos was taken into custody, and after his arrest he told deputies he had bought the gun off the streets with the intention of killing another man.
Deputies interviewed Davalos the next day, and he told them they had stopped him from killing a man he had planned to murder for threatening his family.
Davalos is charged with attempted homicide, prohibited use of a firearm, and DUI. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement has also placed a detainer on him, according to deputies.
