A suspect was arrested Monday evening after a multi-hour standoff with deputies in eastern Colorado Springs.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and a K-9 team attempted to get in touch with Amy Weeks at a home off of Klein Place, in a neighborhood near Constitution Avenue and Highway 24.

Weeks was wanted on several warrants, including a Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Summons that listed her as “Armed and Dangerous”. The domestic violence incident involved unlawfully discharging a firearm.

Deputies reported that the victim of the domestic violence case was on scene and was contacted by phone and exited the residence without incident.

Weeks attempted to run through a back door, but barricaded herself back inside when she encountered deputies.

About four hours later, Weeks left the home and was taken into custody without incident.

Weeks was transported to the Criminal Justice Center Jail and booked in on outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants.
