A Colorado Springs police officer was treated for minor injuries after a crash early Monday morning.
Police said it happened around 3:30 a.m., when the officer was on his way to help another officer on a call. He was headed southbound on Union Boulevard just north of Platte Avenue when a Dodge pickup turned in front of him. The officer swerved to avoid a crash, hit a curb, went onto the sidewalk, and hit a parking lot light pole.
Police said the Dodge was not hit, and its driver was not injured. He was served and released on a summons for traffic offenses.
The officer was treated for minor injuries.
