COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado man has pleaded guilty to killing his mother and stepfather in 1992, when he was 15 years old.
Prosecutors said Jacob Ind, 41, pled guilty Thursday to two counts of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Ind is accused of killing Pamela and Kermode Johnson in Woodland Park in 1992.
A judge ruled last month that Ind would be tried as an adult, ending months of legal wrangling.
Ind was previously tried and convicted as an adult, but he was granted a new trial in January 2017 after a judge ruled his rights were violated when his court-appointed attorney blocked him from taking the stand.
Ind has said the killings were motivated by longstanding physical and sexual abuse.
He faces between 32 and 72 years in prison when he is sentenced December 20.
