Burglary suspect arrested after brief standoff in southeastern Colorado Springs

A burglary suspect was arrested after a brief standoff in southeastern Colorado Springs Sunday night, according to police. 

Police said around 11:20 p.m., a man broke into an apartment at the Antero Apartments in the area of Fountain Boulevard and Murray Boulevard and refused to leave. Officers surrounded the apartment and brought him out after a brief standoff. 

The man, 29-year-old Tyler Nelson, was jailed on charges of burglary, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and other misdemeanors.
